Igor Eskic

Igor Eskic

Software Engineering Student

Igor Eskic is a Master’s student specializing in Software Engineering at the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the same institution. His primary interests include Embedded Systems, Computer Architecture, Cybersecurity, and various Information Systems. Igor has industry experience as a Junior Verification Engineer, where he developed complex verification environments for different protocols. Additionally, he has worked as an undergraduate teaching assistant for the past two years, covering over 15 different subjects in the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics. During high school, he participated in various competitions, achieving notable success in geography, winning a silver medal at the European Geography Olympiad in 2018 and a bronze medal at the International Geography Olympiad in 2019. In his free time, he enjoys watching and playing basketball, going out with friends, and drinking coffee. His summer internship at Texas A&M will be under supervision of Prof Chia-Che Tsai.

Stefan Jovanović

Stefan Jovanović

Computer Science Student

Stefan Jovanović was born in Niš in 2001. He graduated from Svetozar Marković High School in Niš and is currently a fourth-year undergraduate student in the computer science program at the Faculty of Electronic Engineering in Niš. Throughout his studies, he has received multiple awards from the faculty for his academic achievements and is currently a recipient of the “Dositeja” scholarship from the Fund for Young Talents. Stefan worked for a year at Diffine as a machine learning engineer, contributing to projects aimed at developing AI for biomedical purposes. In the future, he plans to dedicate himself to AI and pursue an academic career. His hobbies include playing board games, collecting art replicas, and archery. His summer internship at Rice Universitu will be under supervision of Edward Knightly.

Ognjen Marinkovic

Ognjen Marinkovic

Computer Engineering Student

Ognjen Marinkovic is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Belgrade’s School of Electrical Engineering, majoring in Computer Engineering and Informatics. He completed an internship at the Microsoft Development Center Serbia, where he enhanced his technical skills and gained valuable industry experience. Programming has always been more than just work for him; it is also a hobby. He often engages in side projects, ranging from creating AI chatbots to developing operating system kernels. When he is not behind his computer, Ognjen enjoys going to the gym and exploring Belgrade’s vibrant nightlife. His summer internship at Texas A&M will be under supervision of Prof Khanh Nguyen.

Maša Đurić

Maša Đurić

Electrical Engineering Student

Maša Đurić is a third-year student at the School of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computing. She works as an undergraduate teaching assistant for several courses in the Signals and Systems department. Throughout high school, Maša won numerous first prizes at national mathematics and physics competitions and earned a bronze medal at the International Junior Science Olympiad in the Netherlands. She enjoys watching tennis and Formula One and listening to music. As an intern she will be working with the Rice University Computer Science Department in the Computational Robotics and AI group under the guidance of Professor Lydia Kavraki.

Milica Veselinović is a third-year student at the School of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering. She has worked as a student teaching assistant for several courses, including Algorithms and Data Structures and Computer Architecture. Milica completed an internship at the Microsoft Development Center Serbia, which greatly enhanced her programming skills. She co-founded and leads MG-TV, a YouTube channel showcasing her high school’s community and activities to a broader audience. Milica expresses her artistic side through music; she enjoys playing the piano and singing in her high school choir. As an intern, she will work at the Rice University Computer Science Department under the supervision of Professor Christopher Jermaine.

Nikola Kuslakovic

Nikola Kuslakovic

Computer Science Student

Nikola Kuslakovic is a third-year undergraduate student at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, majoring in Applied Computer Science within the Computing and Control Engineering department. He is actively involved as a junior teaching assistant at Petnica Science Center in Serbia, where he helps organize science seminars and frequently gives lectures to high school students interested in computer science. Nikola completed his first internship at Maxeler Technologies, focusing on developing and testing software for tensor streaming processors. In his free time, he enjoys working out, watching films, and spending time with his friends. As a CSSAP participant, Nikola will conduct his research at Rice University under the guidance of Professor John Mellor-Crummey, specializing in high-performance computing.
